Sleep Apnea Snoring

Do you have simple snoring or signs of sleep apnea?

Sleep apnea snoring is often the first manifestation of sleep disordered breathing and may be associated with harmful effects.

When a person with sleep apnea stops breathing in sleep, the snoring also stops.  Then the snoring begins again, sometimes with a snort or a gasp, when the person takes the next breath.

What Causes Sleep Apnea Snoring?

Your lound and irregular snoring is caused by an airway narrowing at the back of the mouth. This obstacle creates an air turbulence when breathing in, causing the soft tissues from my throat to vibrate.

The vibration creates the loud noise that can disrupt the sleep of your partner and even your neighbor.  Read here Causes of Sleep Apnea.

How to Treat Sleep Apnea Snoring?

Many people with heavy snoring don't think that they may have a sleep breathing disorder.

Some of them have not even heard of such a disease.

They apply other methods to heal only a symptom, not the real cause:

  • for his heavy snoring, a patient might be advised by a friend to try a decongestant or to sleep in another room and let his wife to sleep alone.
  • If he has weight problems, he will just try to lose weight.
  • For his sleep complaints, he will think a sleeping pill can be useful.

Unfortunately, these methods only make sleep apnea worse. An untreated sleep apnea can become severe, which will become more difficult to treat than a mild form, such snoring.

Changing your sleep position

A change in sleep position may eliminate snoring, especially if you're sleeping on the side of your body.

If you find it difficult to sleep on your side for a long time, a special pillow or a side sleeping backpack can make a huge difference in your sleep quality.
