No insurance
by Stacy C.

My husband has been suffering from this for at least the last 5 years and it is growing much worse as the weight is building and the energy to do any exercise is going. He has high blood pressure also.
He is a truck driver and I worry not only about him dying but also that he will take others with him in an accident. The problem is we have no insurance and they want at least $1,800.00 to do a sleep study. Are there any trials or programs to help people like us?
We live outside of Spokane Washington.
Answer
If you have sleep apnea but financial difficulty or no insurance, there are organizations who can help you.
There are people in
Talk About Sleep organization, where they have a donation program for people who are in need for CPAP equipment.
In a collaborative effort, Talk About Sleep, Midwest Sleep & Respiratory Supply (MSRS) and the American Sleep Apnea Association have joined in an effort to reach out and help a greater number of Americans in need of CPAP equipment during these difficult economic times.
However, a valid prescription is one of the few requirements.
Click here to read more information about the donation program.
The process for receiving a donated CPAP or BiPAP machine is simple, and I advice you to email first to Tracy (tnasca@talkaboutsleep.com) or call 866-657-5337 to find more details.
I hope it helps. Don't be afraid to comment back.
